Brian's Blog - Sunday April 12th

After 2 good meetings at Garthorpe so far, the Quorn come into town.  As usual they stage 7 races over fences, and 2 Charity Flat races. Distances of the races are all 3 miles this year, over fences, and 1 1/2 miles for the flat races.  This year there are a record number of trade stands to browse or spend, various food outlets and the 'Watering hole' bar.  With the races being held on a Saturday, you will need something to do to entertain yourselves on the Sunday, so here's a suggestion.  Bring the family and barbecue, plus a garden fork, back to the scene of the previous days racing, and join in the latest CRAZE, tredding back the divots, of the turf.  While doing this, you can chat with the Quorn Committee Members,  and perhaps get involved in the future.  There is no better way to enjoy the Sunday mornings fresh air in the beautiful countryside of Leicestershire. Admission free! I will do my best to keep the rain away!!

Forgot to mention the MUSIC. The Quorn have a live band, playing in the Watering Hole straight after the last race.  It should be fun, so stay and enjoy the party with myself and Mrs Crawford.

All bends and fences have been moved to fresh ground for this meeting. The race line will be in the middle of the course, the exception being wide down the hill next to the hedge. WATERING WILL TAKE PLACE IF NEEDED TO PROVIDE SAFE GROUND.

The first race is at 1.00pm on Saturday April 25th.

See you there. Brian.
