Garthorpe winner heads to Tattersalls Cheltenham

Impressive Garthorpe winner Bond Broker is among initial entries for the Tattersalls Cheltenham February sale.

The Tom Weston trained son of Doyen who hails from the family of leading national hunt sire Champs Elysees won the Tattersalls Cheltenham four and five years old maiden race over two and a half miles at the Melton Hunt Club meeting at Garthorpe on 5th February.

The four-year-old gelding, ridden by Gearoid Harney, won by 6 lengths, showing a good turn of foot to quicken away from the Bradley Gibbs trained Impression Chic, with a further 22 lengths back to the 3rd.

Impression Chic also heads to the same sale.

Speaking after the race, Tom Weston said, “We bought Bond Broker as a foal in Ireland, broke him and prepared him to run. This was the first of the Tattersalls Cheltenham-sponsored races we had him ready for, so it was an obvious target."
